The Community Health Program works to expand access to health services and promote health prevention in the five counties we serve. Community Health's efforts focus on improving health on a community level and providing the social supports for communities to improve health. Projects must substantially benefit residents in at least one of the five Bay Area counties we serve: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, and San Mateo. If an organization is based outside these five counties, the total number of local constituents benefiting from service must be competitive with local organizations. The Foundation makes grants to organizations that are exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and are classified as "not a private foundation" under Section 509(a). (Community Improvement, Capacity Building)
Grants are made on a selective basis for broad general purposes in the following areas: education, health and human services, cultural affairs, the arts, historic preservation and environmental concerns. The Foundation encourages applicants to request funding for projects to enhance existing programs or new programs that meet emerging needs of the community. Projects that involve collaborative community efforts to avoid duplication of services are also encouraged. No grants will be made to individuals or for scholarships. Although the Inasmuch Foundation is an Oklahoma based foundation, grant applications from other geographic areas, particularly organizations based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, are sometimes considered. In order to apply for a Foundation grant, a Letter of Inquiry must be submitted. If the Letter of Inquiry is accepted by the Foundation, you will be asked to move forward with the application process by submitting the Application Form.

(Education)
The Getty Foundation's Campus Heritage Grants program assists colleges and universities in the United States to manage and preserve the integrity of their significant historic buildings, sites, and landscapes. Please note that 2007 is the final year of the initiative. Eligible projects include those that focus on campus-wide preservation initiatives. The purposes for which grants are available include the following: the survey of historic resources on campuses to create a comprehensive inventory and to prepare nominations for historic designation for buildings, districts, and landscapes; the creation of a preservation master plan for a campus or to augment an existing master plan with a historic preservation component; and the preparation of detailed conservation analyses and working specifications, including documentation for a group of historic buildings or landscapes, or the preparation of historic structure or landscape reports.
Projects focused primarily on single buildings or sites, basic maintenance, reconstruction or replacement of lost resources, systems upgrades, and new construction are not eligible for support. The majority of grants will be made for planning activities. Grants for implementation may be available on a limited basis for projects where thorough planning and analysis have already taken place and a complete program of work has already been determined. The first step in applying for a Campus Heritage Grant is to submit a preliminary Letter of Inquiry to determine eligibility. Although preliminary letters may be submitted at any time, applications have an annual deadline of April 10. Organizations interested in submitting an application should submit preliminary letters at least two months prior to the deadline.

(Arts, Culture and Humanities)
The purpose of the arts and human development program is twofold. First, the foundation seeks to strengthen individual artists and small to midsize arts and cultural organizations as a part of a vibrant cultural community. Second, it aims to expand support services for special population groups (e.g., aging adults, disabled children and adults, at-risk youth and foster youth) that enable them to acquire the resources and skills that will lead to self-sufficiency.
The priorities of the program are small to midsize community-based arts organizations, theater companies and cultural institutions with operating budgets not exceeding $2 million, efforts that increase the representation and participation of minorities, immigrants and low-income individuals and communities in the arts, support services for aging adults, disabled children and adults, at-risk youth and foster youth, efforts that promote civic dialogue and advocate for critical issues affecting the arts, aging adults, disabled children and adults, at-risk youth and foster youth. Interested organizations must first submit a Letter of Intent. Formal applications will be accepted only from those organizations that are invited to apply. Eligible applicants must have tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
